United Way Day of Caring
The United Way of Morgan County held their annual Day of Caring on September 10, 2019. This was an opportunity for the 30 non-profit agencies that they assist in the community to request help from companies like Toray, businesses, and other supporters. Toray participated in three different projects for the Day of Caring.
We purchased office and cleaning supplies for the Morgan County Child Advocacy Center. They are a child-focused agency that works with law enforcement, child protection, and medical personnel to ensure excellence in investigation, treatment, and prosecution of child abuse cases.
We also provided a new television, DVD player, movies, and fun snacks that children can make for Hope Place. They respond to individuals and families in crisis related to domestic violence and assault.
The final project consisted of about 30 employees spending the day at two locations of the Decatur Morgan Mental Health Center. They provide comprehensive mental health services, including counseling, for all ages of people. We were able to pressure wash all of the areas around their facilities, complete landscaping projects, and clean windows.
These volunteer projects are critical to these agencies because it allows them to use more of their funds to help the people in the community that need their services. It was a pleasure to participate with these groups to help them achieve their vision.
