#FindYourPark | Toray CMA and the National Park Foundation
As part of our ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Toray Composite Materials America, Inc. (CMA) is supporting the National Park Foundation’s #FindYourPark and #PlacesNobodyKnows initiatives. This collaboration between the National Park Foundation and the National Park Service is aimed at reducing environmental impacts and overcrowding through encouragement of people to visit “lesser known” locations. From July 29th to August 1st, 2019, Tim Kirk, Vice President of Aerospace Sales, joined Thomas Heaton, a popular travel and landscape photographer, to capture the North Cascades National Park in Washington State. Heaton’s photographs will be used in social media and print to promote #FindYourPark and inspire all levels of enthusiasts to search and curate their own experiences.
“It is much needed,” Heaton said when asked about the initiative. As an avid hiker and nature photographer, Heaton recognizes the responsibility of mindful social media use to carefully channel the popularity of locations that can be sensitive to environmental impacts. With 419 individual locations covering more than 85 million acres of land, the National Park System is much more than their top-ten list of most visited parks. America’s national parks are as unique and varied as the people who visit them. “Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul alike.” — John Muir, “Father of the National Parks”.
