United Way Campaign at CMA Decatur Plant
Toray CMA Decatur’s fundraising campaign for United Way of Morgan County was extremely successful due to the generosity of our team members. A total of $18,906.82 was raised for United Way to help meet needs in our local community. Toray CMA Decatur also participated in Day of Caring on September 13th with more than a dozen employees working at the Salvation Army pressure washing, trimming bushes, landscaping, and fence removal. These efforts help agencies complete larger maintenance projects, so they can focus on helping fulfill needs in the community. Approximately 1/3 of Morgan County residents receive direct support annually totaling more than 40,000 people countywide.
The campaign kicked off with two hamburger/hot dog cookouts on November 1st and 2nd with all employee donations ($1,698) going to United Way. Multiple partner agencies came on both days to share information with people as they went through the line for lunch. This increases awareness in the community as well as deepening relationships among Toray CMA and local agencies. The majority of the funds raised were through direction contributions of CMA employees totaling $16,858.82 with additional money was raised by selling United Way T-shirts ($350).
