School Supply Drives held Across CMA Plants
CMA Spartanburg plant participated in the Stuff the Bus school supplies drive hosted by United Way of Piedmont once again this year.
This was our 4th year working with this charity that supports over 2,600 Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union Counties students. Although the list of supplies needed was the same as last year, this time, we collected various items on the list, including 37 backpacks and cash, thanks to our employees’ generous donations.
Once our donations were dropped off at United Way of Piedmont, they were distributed in seven different Spartanburg County School District schools. This will help students show up ready to learn and succeed while supporting families struggling to make ends meet. Giving back to our community would not have been this fulfilling without our CMA Spartanburg Plant team!
Across the United States at CMA Tacoma, GA led a back-to-school supply drive fundraiser where all supplies went directly to Bethel School District students who are a part of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act. This was direct support towards retention of underprivileged youth. Before the start of the new school year, employees from Tacoma Plant filled buckets with donated school supplies set up at each breakroom and purchased selected kits in either $10 or $35 increments.
The campaign was successful due to the generosity of the many employees here in Tacoma. Our employees contributed pencils, binders, notebook, crayons, glue, earphones, and other school supplies.
On August 17, 2023, Bethel School District Community Connections Coordinator, Dannielle Stanford, visited the TA Plant to receive the supplies. After a successful campaign, the result was well received by Bethel School District because of the kindness of the TA Plant employees. Thank you so much for your warm hearts and continued generosity!
