School Supply Drive at CMA Tacoma
Recently, GA led a back to school supply drive fundraiser where all supplies went directly to Bethel School District students who are a part of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act. This was direct support towards retention of underprivileged youth. Before the start of the new school year, employees from TA Plant (Tacoma) filled buckets with donated school supplies set up at each breakroom, and purchased selected kits in either $12 or $40 increments. The campaign was successful due to the generosity of the many employees here in Tacoma. Our employees contributed drawstring bags, headphones, pencils, binders, notebook, crayons, glue, and other school supplies at an estimated $114.00 worth of supplies (201 items). 13 employees participated in kit purchases and gathered $1,256.00 worth of supplies (559 items). CMA in Tacoma was able to present $1370.00 worth of school supplies to needy children.
On August 6th, 2024, Bethel School District Community Connections Coordinator, Dannielle Stanford, visited the TA Plant to receive the supplies. This campaign went well and was well received by Bethel School District because of the kindness of the TA Plant Employees. Thank you so much for your warm hearts and continued generosity!
