September Cleaning Day 2024
On September 25, 2024, 10 CMA employees worked together to remove trash and debris from the public street outside of our Tacoma plant. Volunteers gathered between 10am-11am, armed with gloves, buckets, trash grabbers and biodegradable trash bags. As a result of our volunteers’ diligent efforts, we left 50th Avenue free from debris and litter.
CMA prides itself on its corporate responsibility to prevent pollution and improve our environment. Litter such as cigarette butts, plastic wrappers and other waste is hazardous to not only the environment, but the animals that live within it. This waste can eventually find its way into groundwater which we, animals, and the surrounding agriculture depends on. Moreover, cigarette butts are potential fire hazards to nearby brush, plant life, and other flammable debris.
There are many small yet positive ways we can contribute to the health of our environment and community—whether it be reusing a water bottle, carrying a trash bag while traveling, or going out of your way to pick up the litter you see. CMA and its employees will continue our group efforts to reduce the negative effects of litter.
